State-of-the-Art MRI System: SSRD is equipped with a NEW 1.5T dSTREAM Fully Digital BroadBand MR System – one of the most advanced MRI machines available. It produces excellent image quality for accurate diagnosis of a wide range of medical conditions.

Neuroimaging: Advanced Neuroimaging update includes Diffusion-Perfusion studies, CSF flow studies, and Diffusion Weighted Scan for whole body evaluation. MR Spectroscopy (single and multi voxel) differentiates tumors from other CNS lesions and detects recurrence in follow-up cases.

MR Angiography (MRA): Non-invasive evaluation of blood vessels in the neck and brain to detect areas of narrowing, vascular malformations, aneurysms, and vasculitis.

Diffusion Weighted Imaging (DWI): A newly evolved technique useful in evaluation of cancer patients, especially to detect tumors and their spread. It competes with PET-CT for metastatic work-up with the advantages of being radiation-free and less time-consuming.

Cancer Assessment: DWI has been found to be useful in assessing tumor response to chemotherapy and radiotherapy, making it an invaluable tool in oncology follow-up.

Three Advanced Ultrasound Systems: SSRD is equipped with 3 ultrasound machines – (1) Philips HD11 with routine ultrasound and colour Doppler, (2) Voluson E8 with advanced 3D and 4D facilities, and (3) Aixplorer with the fastest frame rate in the world and Shear Wave Elastography.

3D / 4D Ultrasound: Using the Voluson E8 system, SSRD provides life-like 3D images and real-time 4D video of the baby in the womb, enhancing bonding and enabling better detection of congenital abnormalities.

Obstetric & Fetal Imaging: Comprehensive obstetric ultrasound for establishing living embryo, estimating gestational age, diagnosing congenital abnormalities, and evaluating fetal position and placental location.

Shear Wave Elastography (SWE): Ultrafast Multiwave Ultrasound with Real Time Color Coded 2-D Shear Wave Elastography. Superior to FibroScan – it is real-time, combined with ultrasound (not blind), and can be done in the presence of ascites.

Liver Fibrosis Assessment: SWE accurately and reproducibly assesses liver fibrosis and its response to treatment, replacing the need for invasive liver biopsy in many cases.

Breast Elastography: Electronic palpation to assess stiffness of breast lumps, helping differentiate benign from malignant tumors and reducing unnecessary biopsy rates.

Pioneer in Ultrasound: SSRD has been performing ultrasound since 1993 and was the first to introduce transrectal and transvaginal probes in Chandigarh.

Digital X-Ray (CR System): Equipped with the latest Fuji Capsula II CR system since 2007. All routine plain X-rays and special procedures including barium studies, intravenous urography (IVU), hysterosalpingography (HSG), and micturating cystourethrogram (MCU) are conducted.

DEXA Bone Densitometry: Whole body DEXA scan available since 2009 using a Hologic Whole Body Scanner. Used for measuring bone mineral density, diagnosing osteoporosis, and assessing fracture risk.

Mammography: Breast imaging services available since 1995 using a dedicated mammography unit for screening and diagnosis of breast conditions.

Colour Doppler Imaging: Available on the Philips HD11 system for evaluation of blood flow in carotid arteries, abdominal aorta, peripheral vessels, and other vascular structures.

Carotid & Abdominal Aorta Doppler: Non-invasive assessment of blockages, plaque build-up, and congenital malformations in major blood vessels.

Special Procedures: Barium studies (barium swallow, meal, enema), IVU, HSG, MCU, and other fluoroscopic-guided procedures using the digital CR system for superior image quality.

PNDT Compliance: Sex determination is NOT done at SSRD. The PNDT Act is followed in letter and spirit.
